About the position

The Data Integration Specialist plays a pivotal role in implementing, managing, and supporting ECRI and ISMP Patient Safety Organization (PSO). This position ensures the successful execution of client-facing informatics and data-related PSO programs, focusing on delivering accurate and consistent client access to PSO services. The Data Integration Specialist works collaboratively across ECRI’s Total Systems Safety division and broader teams to contribute to ECRI’s mission of reducing preventable healthcare harm. Key responsibilities include leading the development, testing, and documentation of web, mobile, and server-side cloud-based applications. This role facilitates working sessions between business stakeholders and the development team to create detailed, high-complexity user stories and acceptance criteria. The Data Integration Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality desktop, browser-based, and native mobile applications, ensuring they meet the needs of ECRI business users while maintaining robust client data protection across multiple projects. The Data Integration Specialist serves as a key liaison between client stakeholders, technical teams, and business units, ensuring the successful implementation and management of PSO data initiatives. This role involves gathering and documenting business requirements, creating user stories, and facilitating collaboration to deliver high-quality solutions that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the PSO Implementation Consultant to coordinate client onboarding activities, manage communications, and monitor contractual usage and KPIs.
  • Oversee logistical planning for new and ongoing PSO data mapping maintenance and enhancement initiatives.
  • Actively engage in daily standups, retrospectives, roadmap planning, and release planning, including managing backlogs and approving user stories.
  • Facilitate stakeholder sessions to capture and document business needs, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria for medium to high complexity projects.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure user stories are accurately implemented in technical designs and solutions.
  • Create and troubleshoot SQL scripts, maintain PSO administrative tools, manage secure communications, and oversee client access to platforms like SharePoint and CRM.
  • Provide help desk support, facilitate client outreach, and maintain clear internal team communications with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service to both external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and track project plans, assess risks, monitor progress, and report results to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with PSO data-related organizational KPIs and objectives.
  • Drive process enhancements, develop efficient procedures, and cultivate strong business relationships to maximize productivity and outcomes.
  • Continuously enhance skills in alignment with the PSO competency model, supporting the creation of impactful solutions to reduce healthcare harm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Preferred background in patient safety, risk management, or healthcare quality.
  • 2+ years of facilitating Lean or similar process operations and 2+ years in organizational development, process improvement, or performance enhancement.
  • 3+ years experience of project management and implementation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams effectively.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience with conflict management and facilitating effective discussions.
  • Excellent critical thinking, data analysis, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient understanding of Agile methodologies, including Kanban, SAFe, and Scrum.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in building, deploying, and maintaining reports and dashboards for data analysis.
  • Proficient in SQL (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), Tableau, and Power BI for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience with SharePoint development and mobile development for iOS/Android.
  • Familiar with project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with CRM software, particularly Jira.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks and issue-tracking tools to manage release processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • A project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) is preferred.
