We are searching for a Data Integration Solutions Engineer to support future opportunities . The person in this role will b uild and support integrations among platforms, data portals, and collaboration tools to streamline workflows, data exchange, and health data interoperability . This position will be based in Bethesda, MD. Integrate systems using tools such as SharePoint, Teams, integration toolkits, web-based portals, and REST APIs. Develop and maintain middleware and microservices for data synchronization and events. Create technical specifications, sequence diagrams, and test plans. Implement monitoring, error handling, and retry strategies for resilient integrations. Collaborate with security and compliance to ensure secure, auditable interfaces. Design and build declarative data mapping engines that enable domain experts to define complex data transformations using domain-specific languages (DSLs). Engineer advanced terminology services for mapping clinical terminologies, normalizing units of measure, and ensuring semantic consistency across disparate datasets. Develop robust, API-driven backends to manage complex business logic, including user authentication, authorization, multi-tenant permissions, and intricate data access workflows. Collaborate with data engineers, informaticians, and scientists to understand integration challenges and create foundational tools for scalable health data exchange.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of EIGHT(8) years of senior level professional software development experience.
  • A minimum of TWO (2) years of integration engineering experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python.
  • Proven ability to design and build reusable libraries or frameworks for developers.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards such as OMOP and FHIR, including terminology mapping.
  • Hands-on experience with modern development practices: Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and thorough documentation.
  • Familiarity with authentication and security protocols, including OAuth, SAML, and secrets management.
  • Experience creating and working with Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs).
  • Expertise in developing and optimizing high-performance data processing systems.
  • Experience with Rust is highly desirable for performance-critical components.
  • Familiarity with API gateways, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
  • Contributions to open-source software libraries and frameworks.
