The Responsibilities of the Data Insights Coordinator: The Data Insights Coordinator is crucial for leveraging the agency's data systems to produce actionable insights. This position will be a key resource for our agency's commitment to using data by building and maintaining robust reporting tools and ensuring the integrity of our data to support informed decision-making across SC First Steps. The Data Insights Coordinator bridges the data and evaluation work of the Research & Evaluation Team. This role will support both the implementation and maintenance of the technical infrastructure, complete data analyses, and produce data products. Knowledge of database structures, data security, project management, process management, and data quality assurance/auditing. Knowledge of methods of research design, data collection, data manipulation, data analysis and presentation of information. Knowledge of applicable computer software products.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantified data.
  • A master's degree in statistics may be substituted for the required work experience.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of delivering high quality, work with general supervision.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using various statistical and mathematical techniques.
  • Ability to predict trends and future action based on the analysis of collected information.
  • Ability to prepare and present reports communicating the results of data analysis.
  • Position requires non-essential declaration.
  • Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • DATA REPORTING DESIGN: Create and deploy a variety of internal data products, including interactive dashboards, reports, and other data tools to meet the needs of the Local Partnership, 4K, and Finance teams. Effectively communicate key trends, outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders, and incorporate feedback to quickly implement changes and refine data products. Meet with key internal stakeholders to understand data needs. Provide data coaching. Own the internal process for colleagues to request new data tools and manage the workflow for processing requests. Maintain reporting mechanisms for continuous use.
  • QUALITY CONTROL AND COMPLIANCE: Develop processes for checking and escalating data inconsistencies to maintain a high level of data quality and integrity across all systems and reports. Configure mechanisms for checking data validity and program compliance using system logic and functionality. Work with Program Officers to deliver compliance coaching and data support to Local Partnerships. Serve on the First Steps Data Governance work group and support policy operations. Collaborate with the Database Administrator and other key personnel to create documentation for ensuring data reliability, validity, and timeliness. Support the maintenance of the First Steps Data Dictionary and reporting metadata.
  • DATA ANALYSIS AND CROSS-TEAM COLLABORATION: Conduct project-based statistical analyses as assigned by the Director of Research and Evaluation. Provide data mean-making and coaching to 4K Coaches and Supervisors. Collaborate with teams to create data products for the Data Hub website. Support the Engagement team in creating data product and reporting templates. Collaborate with IT to investigate system integrations. Serve on the data system taskforce and support the implementation and ongoing maintenance on the new data system.
