About The Position

Detail-oriented and reliable Entry-Level Data Input. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining sensitive patient and healthcare data in electronic health record (EHR) systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc. in preparation for various audits and other data extraction requests. Position requires individuals who are highly organized, have strong typing skills, able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in healthcare administration and data collection methodologies preferred.
  • 0-1 year experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in typing (minimum 45 WPM) and use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or EMR systems a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managed Care /Insurance Company credentialing projects under the direction of the Director of Patient Accounting.
  • Accurately input patient and healthcare data into EHR systems and databases, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain data integrity and confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Retrieve data for various audits, (CMS, annual audit, Medi-cal, etc.) as well as administrative needs.
  • Update patient records as needed, including demographics, insurance, and medical history.
  • Collaborate with billing, scheduling, and clinical teams to ensure smooth data flow.
  • Perform regular audits to identify and correct data entry errors.
  • Follow established procedures for data entry, documentation, and reporting.
  • Set up processes and procedures to accurately track the data throughout the year based on required reporting time frames.
  • Additional assistance in Patient Financial Services department may be needed for various projects for additional organizational needs.
