Primary Function of Position We are seeking a solution-oriented and customer first-minded individual to create and operationalize governance measures to support high quality data advancement and ensure appropriate data utilization in accordance with current and emerging global regulations and contractual obligations. Reporting into Global Data Strategy, this role focuses on the design and execution of a comprehensive data use governance strategy to enable digital product portfolio and market expansion with adherence to privacy and security to support Intuitive's position as a globally trusted data partner.

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, computer science, engineering, or related discipline. MS, MBA, MPH preferred
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in healthcare operations, medical devices data strategy, or tangential area
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to develop market and product insights and drive decision making
  • Experience with HIPAA, GDPR, knowledge of PHI, PII best practices and global regulations around healthcare data

Responsibilities

  • Provide data governance input in partnership with privacy legal for product development and releases and recommend data operations for adherence to healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and internal policies
  • Deeply understand digital and data strategy, customers, business, partners and digital product portfolio in order to ensure alignment with our data governance strategy and business agreements
  • Develop and maintain business requirement documents with our IT and digital infrastructure teams to embed compliance to these agreements as well as associated data access and sharing controls into our architecture
  • Create internal learning modules - policies and standard operating procedure training curricula, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead the training
  • Define and implement data access controls and monitor activities and progress to ensure awareness and alignment across technical and business processes
  • Work with Product Management, R&D and Data Privacy teams to develop a common set of definitions for data types
  • Map Digital Solutions and define appropriate data controls to required agreements
  • Provide routine updates to the Commercial, Marketing, Legal, Product., R&D teams on process, strategy, and considerations to ensure appropriate compliance and collaboration
  • Develop regional versions of relevant processes and documents to support global Digital business
