This role will be based in our corporate headquarters in Macedon, NY (hybrid). The Data Governance & Platform Owner is responsible for ensuring the reliability, integrity, and effective operation of BRF’s internal data platforms and governance frameworks. This role owns the end-to-end health of the systems that power the company’s data infrastructure, enabling trusted reporting, analytics, and advanced data use cases. The position sits at the intersection of technology, data, and business, coordinating platform operations, governance processes, and continuous improvement of the enterprise data ecosystem to ensure data is secure, reliable, and fit for purpose.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management, or a related technical field.
  • Five (5)+ years of experience working with enterprise data platforms, data integration, or analytics environments, with demonstrated ownership of platform reliability and operations.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance disciplines, including data quality management, metadata, data lineage, and data standards.
  • Experience supporting and operating production data pipelines and analytics platforms in a business-critical environment.
  • Proven ability to work across IT, data, and business teams to define standards, resolve data issues, and ensure data is fit for operational and analytical use.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated enterprise environment where data reliability and controls are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the operational stability, availability, and performance of BRF’s core data platforms, including data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics layers.
  • Ensuring data pipelines and integrations between internal systems operate reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with defined standards.
  • Defining, implementing, and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
  • Establishing and monitoring data quality controls, metrics, and remediation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness.
  • Managing metadata, data lineage, and documentation to support transparency and usability of enterprise data assets.
  • Partnering with data owners and stewards across manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and corporate functions to ensure accountability for critical data domains.
  • Working with IT security and compliance teams to ensure appropriate data access controls, role-based permissions, and adherence to internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Acting as the primary point of accountability for data platform incidents, including root cause analysis, issue resolution, and communication to stakeholders.
  • Defining and maintaining a roadmap for data platform and governance maturity, balancing operational needs with longer-term strategic improvements.
  • Evaluating new tools, technologies, and architectural enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the data ecosystem.
  • Works on initiatives with moderate to high scope and material impact on the organization’s ability to leverage data effectively.
