About The Position

The Data Entry Operator at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is responsible for performing complex data entry tasks related to public health programs. Requirements

  • At least six months of work experience in data entry or relevant college coursework.
  • Experience in proofreading and editing documents.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance checks and analyze documents.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality best practices for handling medical records and files.
  • Skill in data entry with a high degree of accuracy, typing at least 40 words per minute.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with confidential materials is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enters complex patient, specimen, and test information into the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) computer system, processing approximately 210-450 submission forms daily.
  • Prints patient and specimen demographics, verifies information on forms, edits incorrect information, and processes submission forms for archiving.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, including supporting the creation of a laboratory-wide safety culture and participating in disaster response/recovery efforts.
