About The Position

We are seeking a Data Entry Clerk to support the U.S. Air Force’s Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Creech Air Force Base (AFB) in Nevada. In this role, you will provide on-site front desk and administrative support to help the Military and Family Readiness Center serve customers efficiently, maintain accurate client records, and keep daily operations on track. Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher)
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to become proficient in the AFFIRST database
  • At least 1 year of related experience in a customer service environment
  • High school diploma required
  • U.S. citizenship is required as it supports the U.S. federal government

Responsibilities

  • Customer Support: Meet and greet customers upon entry to the M&FRC and provide immediate assistance
  • Answer the M&FRC main phone line within 3 rings and direct calls to the appropriate staff member
  • Ensure all customers sign in to document usage of computers in the Customer Resource Center
  • Provide Customer Resource Center orientations for walk-in customers and workshop participants
  • Data & Scheduling: Perform data entry using Air Force Family Integrated Results and Statistical Tracking (AFFIRST) or other designated Department of Defense database as required
  • Maintain workshop schedules in AFFIRST and register participants for M&FRC classes, events and briefings
  • Use Microsoft Excel worksheets to maintain and transfer data to AFFIRST or other designated database
  • Conduct weekly checks of client computer usage and report improper computer use
  • Tech Support: Assist customers with technical questions on use of computers and computer programs
  • Contact the Creech Communication Help Desk or create a Help Desk ticket for issues not rectified by the contractor
  • Troubleshoot computers, printers and scanners including loading paper, clearing paper jams and changing toner
  • Resources & Equipment: Maintain the reference library including books, CDs, websites and other resources
  • Catalog new materials within one week of receipt into AFFIRST and recommend additional resources for ordering
  • Track materials and equipment by checking resources in and out through AFFIRST and following up on overdue items
  • Center Operations: Keep the Customer Resource Center neat and organized
  • Update brochure racks and bulletin boards with M&FRC information
  • Create and update marketing materials using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Publisher as needed
  • Prepare and duplicate worksheets and other documents and assist in assembling class materials
  • Set up the classroom for M&FRC classes and restore configuration and orderliness following classes when requested
  • Admin Tasks: Develop and publicize a monthly M&FRC events calendar using Microsoft Publisher when requested
  • Deliver posters on base and update dining facility tabletop holders by the last duty day of the prior month
  • Check the M&FRC mailbox weekly and distribute mail
  • Support kitchen details when necessary
