About The Position

Arconic is currently in search of Data Engineering Interns to join our Arconic Technology Center based in our Research & Development Location of New Kensington, Pennsylvania for Summer 2026. This hands-on, minimum 10-week experience includes impactful projects across multiple business functions, allowing interns to lead at least one major initiative. In addition to project work, interns engage in career development discussions with senior leaders and executives, participate in volunteer activities, and build strong connections through cohort-wide events that foster collaboration and camaraderie.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Statistics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or Social Science field with an emphasis on Statistics, Data Science and Quantitative Analysis.
  • Anticipated graduation of Fall/Winter 2026, or Spring 2027.
  • Prior work experience.
  • 3.0 GPA and above.
  • Involved in at least 1 extracurricular activity.
  • Programming experience with R or Python.
  • Experience manipulating, summarizing, cleaning, and visualizing data with R or Python.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Anticipated graduation date of Fall or December 2026.
  • Familiar with organizing data consistent with tidy data concepts.
  • Experience with tidyverse in R or Pandas in Python.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Previous work or internship experience in manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Read, organize and clean data from disparate sources.
  • Support R Shiny Web Applications.
  • Support UI improvement and development.
  • Support database migration and integration with other systems.
  • Organize and digitize physical records.
  • Develop centralized and searchable platform/databases.
  • Automate data reporting systems.
  • Apply classroom knowledge to solve business problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on impactful projects.
  • Develop presentation for leadership on project(s) and findings.
