About The Position

We are looking for a Data Engineering Intern to join our team in a hybrid capacity in San Jose, CA, reporting to the Manager, Machine Learning Engineering within the Engineering department. The core purpose of a Data Engineering Intern is to assist in building and optimizing robust data pipelines that transform raw information into actionable insights. By supporting the maintenance of scalable data architecture, you help ensure data integrity and accessibility, directly enabling the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills
• Motivated self-starter with a passion for innovation and technology

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with NLP (natural language processing)

Responsibilities

• Implement automated testing and monitoring scripts to identify data inconsistencies, ensuring high levels of data accuracy and reliability for downstream analytics
• Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot and tune database queries and processing jobs, improving system efficiency and reducing latency
• Create and maintain technical documentation for data workflows and schemas to support team collaboration and ensure long-term system maintainability
• Partner with Data Science and Analytics teams to understand their data requirements and deliver optimized datasets that drive business-critical insights
