About The Position

The Data Engineering Intern supports the manufacturing facility by building and maintaining data pipelines that collect, organize, and optimize plant data from various systems. This role focuses on enhancing the quality and accessibility of operational data, enabling real-time reporting and advanced analytics for engine production. The position will collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement tools for data modeling, security, and integration, directly contributing to process improvements and business intelligence initiatives within the plant.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C# or Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, AL/ML, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in data analysis, statistics, and visualization preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing systems (DELMIA Apriso, Ignition) a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines for manufacturing operations.
  • Support the integration of factory systems data into centralized databases.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
  • Document processes and contribute to data quality initiatives.
  • Help implement data security and compliance measures.
  • Work with business to prepare reports and dashboards for plant management and business unit teams.
  • Document findings and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions.
