Intern
Glendale, CA

We're looking for a curious, driven, and detail-oriented analytical Data Engineer Intern to join our Data team. In this role, you'll work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders across the business to build, optimize, and maintain the data pipelines and models that power insights and decision-making. You'll gain hands-on experience with real-world data engineering workflows and tools, and receive mentorship from experienced data engineers and analysts. This internship offers exposure to the full data lifecycle—from ingestion to insight—and a deeper understanding of how data powers decision-making at a fast-paced company. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both coding and working with data, and wants to develop their skills in a collaborative, real-world environment.

  • Support the development and maintenance of robust, scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest and transform data from various sources.
  • Assist in building and refining data models in our data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) using tools like dbt.
  • Partner with analysts and data scientists to understand data needs and deliver clean, reliable datasets.
  • Write SQL queries to explore data and validate transformations.
  • Help monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Document data flows and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Strong SQL skills and basic understanding of data modeling concepts.
  • Some experience with Python or another scripting language.
  • Interest in modern data stack tools like dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, or similar (hands-on experience a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Team bonding events and a highly collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to Equal Opportunity Employment in addition to an inclusive and supportive company culture.
  • Access to our internal DEI Task Force that focuses on ensuring our products represent all children on a global scale.
