The Data Engineer builds the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Azure, and 'big data' technologies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience (Required)
  • 2-4 years Data Engineering (Required)
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Required)
  • Experience in languages such as SQL, Python, Perl, Java, Bash Shell Scripting, working in Linux environment (Required)
  • Experience working on Cloud Technologies like Azure Data Factory, ADLS2, Event Hub, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake (Required)
  • Experience in streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark. Well versed with GIT, CICD Pipelines, Linux (Required)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate / similar (Required)
  • Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets (Required)
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement (Required)

  • Network/Telecom Domain knowledge (Preferred)
  • Ability to manage work across multiple projects, good organizational skills (Preferred)
  • Self-Motivated, creative and a good team player. Enthusiastic, passionate, communicative and ability to document work done effectively (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Interact with internal business end users, gather requirements, and generate design documents
  • Create and maintain optimal ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipelines
  • Work with stakeholder teams and team management to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/ non-functional business requirements
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
  • Create data tools for analytics and data science team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product's performance and effectiveness
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
