At FanDuel, our data platform underpins critical business operations that need to run with maximum efficiency and scalability. As our business continues to grow, ensuring our cloud services are cost-effective, transparent, and well-managed is more important than ever. This FinOps Engineer role sits within our Data organization and will focus on building out financial operations practices that provide visibility, governance, and optimization of our cloud spend. • Proven track record of partnering with engineering teams to embed cost-aware practices into architecture and pipelines.
  • Experience collaborating with finance teams and vendors to align on budgets, forecasts, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate cost insights into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Supporting adoption of best practices in FinOps across the data organization.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.

  • Experience with cloud cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports, third-party tools).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proven ability to work with finance, engineering, and business teams to align on cost objectives.
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to translate technical cost data into business insights.
  • Track record of delivering measurable cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Capability to drive organizational change and adoption of cost-conscious practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Python, Databricks, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Array of health plans to choose from (some as low as $0 per paycheck).
  • Programs for fertility and family planning, mental health support, and fitness benefits.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO & sick leave).
  • Annual bonus and long-term incentive opportunities (based on performance).
  • 401k with up to a 5% match.
