About The Position

As a Data Engineer in Equities, you will be an integral part of the Risk and Valuations team, which is broadly responsible for building financial models and critical trading tools catering to various product lines across various Equity derivatives business like Flow, EFS, Sales, Trading and Risk Management. The business is at the forefront of industry leading innovative client focused solutions for financial modelling, and you will be required to work in a close partnership with other technology team members, Product Management, and business stake holders to convert evolving business and trade ideas into strategic solutions in-line with broader architecture and product strategy.

Requirements

  • Proven Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or other Engineering fields
  • Core Java, Multithreading, Object Oriented programming, and Python
  • Designing and developing applications and APIs to manage large volumes of data, Timeseries data handling
  • Parquet format, HBase, any similar NoSQL technologies
  • Demonstrating ample and quality communication skills, and the ability to coordinate and work in a fast-paced delivery environment

Nice To Haves

  • Solace, Gridgain/Ignite Caching would be an advantage.
  • Market data sourcing from Reuters, Bloomberg, EXEGY
  • Kubernetes, Docker or any container technology would be an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
