About The Position

Become a part of our caring community The Data Engineer 2 creates scalable data processing architectures and solutions that facilitate the efficient transformation of structured and unstructured data into applicable insights across the enterprise. You will work on diverse assignments that require interpretation to determine the most appropriate course of action. You will report to the Lead Data Engineer. · You will ingest data from internal and external sources using cloud-native platforms and applies industry-standard software development practices and patterns. · You will develop tools and solutions using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data, allowing Humana to enhance service delivery for members. · You will help shape departmental strategy and make decisions regarding technical approaches to complex project components, exercising considerable latitude in setting goals and methods. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years' technical experience in data analysis or engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience assessing complex data sets and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Utilization of data to inform and drive business outcomes and decisions.
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working with Snowflake Cloud.
  • Experience with the Azure ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) framework.
