Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of two years related work experience.
  • Knowledge building AWS cloud architecture and supporting services and technologies (Eg: ECS, Glue, S3, Glue Crawler, Redshift, Step Functions, Foundational Services like IAM, Cloud Watch, Cloud formation, Lambda, Secrets Manager, Sagemaker).
  • Intermediate expereince building Spark data processing applications (Python, Pyspark).
  • Intermediate experience with SQL development.

Responsibilities

  • Writes basic ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems, and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
  • Executes and analyzes data reporting and quality control queries.
  • Escalates issues as needed to ensure resolution.
  • Translates business specifications into design specifications and code with support from Data Engineering Senior Specialists.
  • Responsible for writing programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.
  • Ensures that all code is well structured, includes sufficient documentation, and is easy to maintain and reuse.
  • Partners with internal clients to gain a basic understanding of business functions and informational needs.
  • Gains working knowledge in tools, technologies, and applications/databases in specific business areas and company-wide systems.
  • Supports senior engineers in all phases of solution development.
  • Tests code thoroughly for accuracy of intended purpose.
  • Provides data analysis guidance as required.
  • Provides tool and data support to business users and team members.
  • Works with management to onboard new analysts and provide informal coaching and training.
  • Supports testing of new software releases through regression testing.
  • Identifies issues and elevates to senior data engineers.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
