Role Overview We’re looking for a technically strong Data Engineer to help alleviate a capacity bottleneck within a small, high-impact data team. This is not a greenfield build role—the core data infrastructure is already in place and functioning. Instead, the focus is on maintaining, optimizing, and incrementally improving existing systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the backend of data systems, is detail-oriented, and can quickly take ownership of ongoing data operations with minimal direction.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in a data engineering or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Hands on experience with the required technologies (Snowflake, Looker)
  • Comfortable working in a maintenance and optimization-focused environment
  • Able to quickly understand existing systems and contribute with minimal ramp-up
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Motivated to grow into increased ownership over time

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize existing data pipelines and infrastructure within Snowflake
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data pipelines and reporting systems
  • Build and update reports (e.g., compliance, partner billing) using Looker
  • Develop and refine SQL queries and Python scripts to support data workflows
  • Create and maintain specific data views based on internal requests
  • Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across systems
  • Collaborate closely with the existing data engineer to support continuity and improvements
