Put simply, we facilitate and coordinate organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation in our community and educate the public on the importance of our mission. The Data Engineer is responsible for developing and coding the software required to fulfill the custom reporting needs of the organization. This position will additionally gather, manage, analyze, and report data to and from internal Lifebanc and external industry systems to evaluate performance metrics, as well as produce, prepare, and submit data for regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • BS in Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics preferred.
  • Proven working experience as a programmer analyst for a minimum of 3 years, preferable in healthcare.
  • Detailed custom report writing and business intelligence experience for a minimum of 3 years using MS VisualStudio.Net(MS Reporting Services) and Tableau Desktop.
  • Expert at SQL query writing and development with a minimum of 3 years of experience using MS SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with business intelligence tools (e.g.Power BI, Tableau, SAS).
  • Development and Implementation of AI projects minimum 3 years.
  • Advanced research skills and experience with data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends,identifyopportunities, and then communicate the findings.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
  • Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and use discretion when necessary.
  • Ability to function as a team member.

Nice To Haves

  • Statistical programming experience preferred using SAS, SSPS, R, or JMP.
  • Certified Database Administrator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, verifies, analyzes, and reports statistical measures of organ, eye, and tissue donation for strategic direction, organizational metrics, performance measures, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.
  • Responsible formanipulation ofdata, design of ad hoc reporting, and creation of automated standardized reports, scorecards and dashboards using source data from the various clinical and administrative databases that compriseLifebanc’sdata warehouse.
  • Performs concurrent and retrospective electronic data collection from clinical and operational databases including but not limited to Transplant Connect, Raisers Edge,Donornet, SRTR, AOPO, BMV, and HHS.
  • Ensures data collection processes are consistent, repeatable, andappropriate throughoutthe organization.
  • Verifies the organ, tissue, and/or eye donor statistics in the electronic medical record system on a weekly basis.
  • Reports verifiedLifebancorgan referral, authorization data and organ donor and import data to UNET, AOPO, and SRTR.
  • Ensurestimelyandaccuratedata is available for entry into UNET and SRTR.
  • Collects data and creates presentation formats prior to each scheduled Medical Advisory Board Meetings, Quality Improvement Committee meetings,Lifebancstaff and Board of Directors meetings.
  • Codes anddevelopscustom reports to allow staff toutilizeaccuratedata in decision making processes.
  • Interprets the ongoing development efforts that result in changes to database structures.
  • Maintainswritten instructions for database maintenance procedures.
  • Maintainsmonthly dashboards for the organization, Leadership team, and other initiatives to ensure compliance with agency performance measures.
  • Mines the data warehouse to translate and analyze those data sources, in order, to find trends,determinewhat the data trends mean, and presents those data trend analysis findings into useful information for organizational staff, management, and Board members.
  • Identifiesand compilesappropriate datafor the creation of detailed management reports, so that organization performance can be effectively measured.
  • Works with end users toidentifybusiness requirements for reporting and analysis,validatesthe results, andensuresdata quality.
  • Creates analytic and operational reports, dashboards, charts, and graphs to helpoptimizeoperational processes.
  • Serves in a consultative manner to internal customers from all clinical and administrative departments to provide needed reporting and business improvement analysis and to suggest clear,actionableandtimelyinsights from analyses.
