About The Position
As a Data Engineer on the Data Platform team, you’ll be architecting and developing Underdog’s sports focused data systems and data pipelines. You will design, build, and optimize scalable data platform infrastructure using Terraform to support batch and real-time data processing and storage on the cloud using Kafka, Kinesis, RDS, and S3. Your role will also involve implementing and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and logging mechanisms to ensure the health and performance of the data platform. Collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions will be key. You will lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and evangelize best practices to maintain code and data quality. Additionally, you will research and keep up to date on emerging data technologies and trends and focus on iteratively implementing them into Underdog’s data systems.
