About The Position

The Data Engineer - IoT/OT position at Simmons Foods focuses on enhancing the company's Business Intelligence capabilities through effective data integration. This role is crucial in driving business value by organizing data at both macro and micro levels, providing logical data models, and delivering multiple data integration projects. The engineer will work closely with analysts to gather requirements, maintain purchased applications, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support. The position also involves participating in team development and ensuring adherence to Simmons' operating systems principles.

Requirements

• 5 years of applicable functional and technical Applications experience.
• 2+ years of experience with dimensional data modeling & schema design in Data Warehouses.
• 2+ years of experience in custom or structured ETL/ELT design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in ODI (Oracle Data Integrator), Oracle Data Warehouse, Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of the system development life cycle and software project management.
• Ability to follow best coding standards practices.
• Expertise in performance tuning of ETL/ELT/SQL code.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with OBIEE.
• Preference for experience in the food processing industry.

Responsibilities

• Organizes data at macro and micro levels, providing logical data models.
• Delivers multiple data integration projects leveraging implementation experience and best practices.
• Maps data warehouse and ETL/ELT designs, sets standards for data management.
• Analyzes current state and conceives projects to close gaps between current and future goals.
• Maintains and supports existing purchased applications, including training and documentation.
• Troubleshoots issues and participates in After Action Reviews.
• Provides recommendations and feedback to the Application Manager.
• Participates in team development and communication of policies.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons' operating systems and communicates concerns.
• Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives.
