About The Position

As a Data Engineering Intern at MSS, you will expand the company's self-service data initiative by building data products in a Microsoft Azure tech stack. Your work will focus on synthesizing datasets across multiple source systems, transforming complex schemas into clean, interpretable data products. The result: business stakeholders across the enterprise gain independent access to trusted data, while machine learning initiatives benefit from a richer, more reliable data ecosystem. Over the course of our 10-12 week internship experience you will have the opportunity to: PySpark and SQL development Synthesizing datasets across systems Data wrangling and cleansing Data quality checks ETL pipeline orchestration This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. These positions must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Additionally, some positions may require the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026
  • Studying computer science, mathematics, statistics, operations research, industrial engineering, information systems, business analytics, or similar
  • Experience in Python or SQL
  • Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026
  • These positions must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
  • Additionally, applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud computing including Azure, GCP or AWS, preferred
  • Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above)
  • Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
  • Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships
  • Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace and a career with Boeing
  • Junior or Senior class standing
