Data Engineer Intern
About The Position
This is a fully onsite internship designed for hands‑on learning, close mentorship, and day‑to‑day collaboration with your IT team. You’ll support Kimball Midwest’s data modernization efforts and learn how data moves from source systems into enterprise platforms that leaders actually use.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field
- Coursework or experience with SQL; exposure to Azure or similar tools is a plus
- Curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Support data modernization projects that improve how data is stored, accessed, and used
- Work with SQL and review existing code to help ensure accuracy and reliability
- Assist with integrating data from multiple systems into our data warehouse
- Document data processes and technical decisions so others can build on your work
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Collaborate with IT and business partners to understand how data supports decisions
