About The Position

Inmar's Summer Internship Program offers a dynamic and enriching experience designed to give students real-world exposure to a professional environment while contributing meaningfully to company initiatives. Interns will split their time between a high-impact cross-functional team project and department-specific responsibilities assigned by their direct manager. As part of the Data and AI team, the Data Engineer Intern will support efforts to expand and optimize data flow and architecture within the company's business intelligence ecosystem. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, the intern will assist in provisioning and preparing data from various sources to ensure it is accessible and reliable for analysis and reporting. This role offers hands-on experience with designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, while learning about data governance, management practices, and tools. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about learning how to improve and refine data infrastructure to support current and future business intelligence initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related area.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with common cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Java, SQL, NoSQL, etc.
• Exposure to or coursework involving large-scale data processing tools like BigQuery, BigTable, dbt, Apache Iceberg, Starburst, or Trino is a plus.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Support team initiatives in areas such as data pipeline development, data preparation, and performance optimization.
• Assist in extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources to support business intelligence reporting.
• Contribute to improving data quality, documentation, and organization within the data platform.
• Collaborate on designing and testing scalable data solutions under the guidance of senior data engineers.
