The Data Engineer Intern will assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to support enterprise data fabric initiatives. Perform data analysis and contribute to extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes to ensure clean, standardized, and accessible data for business insights.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be within their last 2 years of a 4 year degree program or Master's level student; relevant curriculum includes courses on computer science, data science, information systems, or related field.
  • SQL proficiency for querying and data manipulation.
  • Basic knowledge of ETL concepts and data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Python or Scala for data processing.
  • Understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a data-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SQL and basic data analysis concepts.
  • Interest in cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Data analysis: Using tools like Power BI, Excel, or basic Python for exploratory analysis.
  • Develop and test ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory or similar tools, i.e. write simple SQL queries, clean data, and load into staging tables.
  • Clean and standardize datasets for integration into the data fabric.
  • Document processes and assist with data governance and quality checks.
