The Data Engineer III at Omnicell is a key role focused on supporting the company's mission to transform healthcare through innovative data solutions. This experienced professional will lead the development and enhancement of the Omnicell 340B products, applying best practices in data processing and storage. The role involves collaboration within a Product Engineering team to design, develop, and maintain high-performance data systems that meet the needs of healthcare providers.

  • Understand how Omnicell solutions meet customer needs and how products are used across the continuum of care.
  • Work as part of a Product Engineering team in designing, developing, and optimizing data processing systems and pipelines.
  • Build high-performance scalable data warehouses and data products.
  • Analyze and correct SQL Server issues in real time, including high database usage and job failures.
  • Monitor database health and performance, optimizing it for effective operation.
  • Manage database backup and recovery efforts.
  • Perform routine and proactive database maintenance tasks, such as index tuning and data purging.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data integrity errors.
  • Adhere to software development design standards and best practices for scalable software delivery.
  • Expert experience in database administration, performance, indexing, high availability, disaster recovery, failover clustering, and replication.
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment with large-scale datasets.
  • Expertise with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Strong data analytics and quantitative skills, with problem-solving capabilities in data-driven environments.
  • Proficient in Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to deliver results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and foster team loyalty.
  • Encourages constructive design discussions with the team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent prioritization skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C# and ASP.NET.
  • Experience in the Pharmacy, Hospital/EMR, PBM, or hospital revenue cycle industries.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy, prescription claims adjudication, PBM, or medical EDI data.
