About The Position

The Data Engineer II position at Amazon Web Services (AWS) involves working with the AWS Data Platform team to tackle complex scalability, performance, and distributed computing challenges. The role focuses on processing vast amounts of data, including usage and billing transactions, and building a robust data lake platform. The engineer will collaborate with various AWS teams to enhance customer experience and provide actionable insights from large datasets.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Apache Spark and Elastic Map Reduce.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
• Experience with non-relational databases/data stores such as object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and manage large datasets across various data platforms.
• Build ETL pipelines to ingest data into the data lake.
• Craft and implement stable, scalable, low-cost solutions for data flow from production systems to the data lake.
• Collaborate with business owners to understand data requirements and provide analytics for decision-making.
• Utilize big data technologies like Elastic Map Reduce (EMR) and Spark to process and analyze data.
