About The Position

The Data Engineer at autoMHatic Financial will be the driving force behind our modern data infrastructure, leading a variety of high-impact projects across cloud architecture, regulatory compliance, automation, and business intelligence. This individual will own and manage the company's entire data ecosystem, with full responsibility for ensuring data availability, scalability, security, and performance across platforms. From Snowflake to Quickbase to Encompass integrations, the Data Engineer will design and maintain the pipelines and tools that power both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be hands-on with systems and build scalable solutions that fuel growth, enhance financial reporting, and improve operational efficiency in a fast-moving lending environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in a data engineering, data platform, or similar role in financial services or tech
  • Mastery of Snowflake, including warehouse optimization, data modeling, and security practices
  • Proficient in SQL and Python for pipeline development, transformation, and automation
  • Familiarity with Encompass (ICE Mortgage Technology) and lending-related data structures
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and regulatory data in a financial services environment
  • Experience automating workflows for financial operations such as escrow, investor reporting, and receivables
  • Comfortable building and maintaining production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines across internal and third-party systems
  • Git version control and CI/CD experience for deploying data workflows and tracking changes across environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface directly with business stakeholders, compliance teams, and leadership
  • Proven ability to own, prioritize, and deliver data projects independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • A collaborative mindset and eager to support business units, troubleshoot issues, and be the point of contact for anything data-related

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and optimization of our cloud-based data warehouse (Snowflake), with a focus on reliability, scalability, and governance
  • Lead large-scale data migrations, including the consolidation of legacy systems (e.g., MortgageFlex and AS400) into Snowflake
  • Automate ingestion pipelines for third-party data
  • Design new solutions to sync Snowflake with external platforms like Quickbase, Encompass, and compliance tools
  • Automate financial reporting workflows including Investor Reporting, Escrow Analyses, and Monthly Statements
  • Ingest and normalize payments and receivables data from platforms like PayNearMe
  • Build and maintain data flows for third-party insurance data into Snowflake for visibility and reconciliation
  • Design and implement MCR and HMDA data tables in Snowflake to meet regulatory compliance and audit standards
  • Standardize and clean data fields across all environments
  • Build monitoring solutions to ensure data integrity and identify anomalies proactively
  • Implement and enforce best practices around PII handling, data security, and audit compliance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in Operations, Finance, Servicing, and Compliance to prioritize and deliver impactful data solutions
  • Communicate data architecture decisions and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
