About The Position

The person in this position will primarily be responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and support of the company's advanced analytics that will help the company discover hidden information within vast amounts of data, enabling the business to make smarter decisions. This person will be responsible for coding extensions to the company's various BI platforms. This person will also be required to work closely with other Data Engineers and Data analysts assisting in the architecture and development of the data processes to feed data into and out of the data lake. This includes validating solutions to ensure data quality, performance optimized and integrity are maintained and ensuring the customer's expectations are met. This person needs to be able to understand core business needs and create technical solutions to solve challenges with direction from their supervisor.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in computer information systems, computer science or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in ETL coding tools, including Python or other GUI ETL tools like IICS, Matillion, AWS services, Claude, Chat GPT, CICD
• Ability to develop, analyze, and modify processes, data structures, and models.
• Ability to create and maintain documentation, including requirements, design, and user manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and the ability to analyze business processes.
• Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Reads, writes, and speaks fluent English, using appropriate grammar, style, and vocabulary.
• Ability to work with and interview management, requestors, and subject matter experts to gather, identify, specify, and document complex business and functional requirements/problems.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development of ETL code to integrate data into the data lake with direction from a technical lead.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of the customer's business needs as it relates to data
• Collaborates with the business process owners and the business community to define, understand and prioritize the demand for process and solution change toward optimizing value to the business and efficiency in BI delivery
• Work closely with Data Engineering Lead to estimate levels of effort for platform changes and work with the business community to set priorities
• Participate in gathering requirements; prepare requirements documents, functional and technical designs, test scenarios, deployment plans, etc.
• Manage all Data engineering production support tickets, resolve issues and maintain SLA and report progress to the business as requested
• Understand where data originates and how that data is used across most process areas
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned
