The Data Engineer position supports the Department of Defense's (DoD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer's (CDAO) Mission Analytics / Core Analytics Products, Search Products Portfolio, and Unstructured Data Search Enhanced by AI/ML (UD/SEAM). The role involves supporting the configuration and ingestion of various data repositories into capabilities that meet mission partner requirements and facilitate a data analytics and DevOps pipeline for rapid functionality delivery. The engineer will maintain operational aspects of data transfers, ensuring security and monitoring the health of the environment. Additionally, the position requires automation of configuration management and staying current on ETL technologies and services. The engineer will work independently under general guidance, developing solutions, reviewing architecture, and identifying areas for optimization and cost reduction. The role also involves engaging with multiple functional groups to understand client challenges and prototype new ideas and technologies, as well as maintaining web scraping tools used in the ETL process.
