As a Data Engineer within PNC's Asset Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX or Birmingham, AL. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. As a Data Engineer, with a focus on governance, modeling, and analysis, you will be part of a Data Analyst team where you will be responsible for strategic leadership in data governance, data modeling, metadata architecture, and enterprise documentation within our Asset Management line of business. Additionally, you will work with our Data Engineers to create and build data warehousing technology. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical depth (knowledge of Data Warehouse design, source to target mapping, DDL, and SCD types), cross-functional coordination (working with developers, BSA’s, QE), and general data governance expertise to support Asset Management’s evolving data landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of Data Warehouse Design, Source to Target Mapping, DDL documentation, SCD types, table and column naming standards.
  • Lead enterprise data documentation and metadata strategy of our AMG data using tools such as Alation, including steward-level dictionary uploads and catalog curation.
  • Apply governance frameworks to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance across platforms and business domains.
  • Collaborate with data managers, stewards, and reporting teams leading to rationalization of legacy consumption and support migration initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and coordination efforts (e.g., migration projects, downstream role discussions, reporting code reviews).
  • Support pre & post release documentation and compliance processes for data initiatives.
  • Design and implement scalable data solutions that align with business objectives and governance standards.
  • Be a resource for the broader data team for data architecture standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data related issues and provide root-cause analysis.
  • Develops, supports and implements data services for multiple applications to meet business objectives and user requirements.
  • Uses technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.
  • Works closely with users, developers, operations and business partners to define data service requirements and the data preparation process development.
  • Designs and builds data service infrastructure on multiple data platforms, according to key business processes and the overall workflow.
  • Develops and implements data solutions for multiple applications to ensure its scalability, availability and maintainability.
  • Implements data migration and transformation activities/processes to ensure the accuracy and security of data solutions.
