About the position

Duncan Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Business Processing Solutions, LLC, is a full-service transportation management company and a leading provider of parking and tolling management solutions. We support municipal and commercial clients with citation processing, debt collection, DMV registered owner identification, back-office transaction processing, image review, customer service center and customer experience (CX) operations, and integrated on-street parking management services. We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in AWS cloud services, Databricks, and Amazon QuickSight to join our growing analytics team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in modernizing our data infrastructure and reporting ecosystem by migrating legacy Power BI reports to scalable, cloud-native dashboards in QuickSight. You will also be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing robust data pipelines that support business intelligence, data science, and operational reporting needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition of existing Power BI reports and dashboards to Amazon QuickSight, ensuring continuity, accuracy, and improved performance.
  • Build user-friendly, interactive dashboards and visualizations in QuickSight for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement row-level security, parameterized dashboards, and embedding strategies as needed for external reporting.
  • Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Databricks notebooks (PySpark/SQL).
  • Develop and manage data lakes and data warehouses using Amazon S3, Redshift, and Delta Lake architecture on Databricks.
  • Optimize performance and reliability of pipelines to handle structured and semi-structured data at scale.
  • Design logical and physical data models optimized for analytics and reporting.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all stages of the pipeline.
  • Implement data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management practices using AWS Glue Data Catalog or third-party tools.
  • Partner with analysts, data scientists, business users, and product managers to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Provide guidance on cloud best practices, BI tooling, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in AWS services: Glue, S3, Athena, Lambda, Redshift.
  • Proficient with Databricks and Delta Lake architecture.
  • Experience with Amazon QuickSight: dashboard development, SPICE data sets, etc.
  • Prior experience in Power BI.
  • Solid SQL skills and knowledge of data warehousing principles.
