DATA ENGINEER - DATA FABRIC
About The Position
The Data Engineer - Data Fabric Architecture designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms using modern lakehouse principles. This role supports enterprise data initiatives through Python-based development and implementation of medallion architecture patterns (bronze, silver, gold). The Data Engineer collaborates with analytics, business, and technology teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data that enables reporting, advanced analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making. As with any VSolvit position, additional expectations exist. Requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and modern orchestration tools
- Build and optimize lakehouse architectures following medallion-layer best practices
- Develop ingestion, transformation, and data quality processes for structured and unstructured data sources
- Support analytics and reporting teams with curated, high-performance datasets
- Collaborate on data governance, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives
- Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security of the data platform
- Support enterprise data modernization efforts using platforms such as Microsoft Fabric
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and platform issues
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
- Familiarity with orchestration tools and modern analytics architectures
- Experience supporting enterprise analytics, BI, or AI initiatives
- Experience working in cloud-based or large-scale data environments
