About The Position

Herc Rentals is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to help manage our enterprise data efforts, including managing and optimizing our Teradata data warehouse, developing robust ETL processes, and supporting critical Data Applications. This role will ensure that our data infrastructure is robust, secure, and meets the diverse needs of our business operations. This role is critical to supporting the data needs of the entire organization, and the successful candidate will be expected to work independently and collaboratively to drive data initiatives forward. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering in a large scale data warehouse, preferably in Teradata.
• Strong experience writing complex, efficient SQL queries against large datasets.
• Strong understanding of data security practices and experience working with information security teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with business partners and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with an innovative approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Qlik, Python, Vue.js, PagerDuty and/or ConnectCDC for supporting and enhancing data applications.

Responsibilities

• Work with business leaders and business partners to help create and deliver comprehensive data strategy for Herc Rentals.
• Help manage the Teradata data warehouse, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using PagerDuty, Python, and ConnectCDC, connect to all primary enterprise systems both on premises and in the cloud.
• Support and enhance Data Apps written in Vue.js to meet various business requirements.
• Collaborate with Information Security to identify and remediate vulnerabilities within the data infrastructure.
• Work closely with business partners to understand their data needs and provide strategic, innovative solutions.
• Ensure data governance and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
