About the position

The Data Documentation Specialist at Deloitte plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining technical documentation for software and hardware technologies. This position involves consulting with engineering and technical staff to create user-friendly documentation, ensuring consistency and clarity across various technical documents. The specialist will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and revising documentation, as well as promoting the adoption of documentation templates within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with engineering and technical staff to develop technical and end user documentation for software and hardware technologies.
  • Develop and promote the adoption of documentation templates for IT system, project, and program information.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing functionality.
  • Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet project release dates and client deliverables.
  • Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others, ensuring a consistent "look and feel."
  • Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit operational procedures and manuals.
  • Research, develop, and document technical design specifications and test scripts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and promoting the adoption of documentation templates for IT system, project, and program information.
  • 2+ years of experience consulting with engineering and technical staff to develop technical and end user documentation for software and hardware technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience researching, developing, and documenting technical design specifications and test scripts.
  • 2+ years of experience gathering and analyzing technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing functionality.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
