This position provides input to conversion solution planning, interacts with customer subject matter experts, technical resources, and 3rd party vendors to design requirements and standards for data conversion. This position is an in-office, in-person, or hybrid role if local to South Bend, or remote if not local to South Bend and requires flexible work hours to accommodate go-live conversion activities as needed.

  • Deep understanding of data conversion processes and best practices
  • Strategy formulation and development of successful legacy data conversions

  • Drive to complete project deliverables against aggressive timeline requirements
  • Be easy to work with and a great team-player
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects
  • 5+ Years working with healthcare data
  • Experience with Epic or other data conversion projects through go-live on the new EMR

Nice To Haves

  • Certification for EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient and HIM preferred
  • Experience working with HL7, CCDA, and other healthcare data standards and formats
  • Experience taking accountability for high-profile projects

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the internal project team, clients, and go-forward vendors to ensure a smooth and successful conversion of data from the source application to the destination application
  • Facilitate meetings with subject matter experts to gather and document source application conversion requirements, mapping content to destination system specification documents
  • Conduct clinical user group sessions to convert source system values to destination system category lists according to ingestion standards and specifications
  • Follow a standard and repeatable process to perform data ingestion file format (HL7, CCDA, delimited file, etc.) quality assurance checks and data integrity validation, paying close attention to detail
  • Develop and maintain internal and client-facing process documentation to support a successful and repeatable conversion
  • Bridge the gap between end-user requirements and technology solutions by creating and maintaining validation scripts and tip sheets
  • Lead end-user validation kickoff and training sessions, host end-user validation office hours, and provide at-the-elbow support
  • Provide implementation support through testing phases by triaging end-user reported issues, documenting, routing to proper team, and managing through to resolution
  • Report on the progress of validation issue management back to project team
  • Support project management resources in understanding and updating project timelines
  • Provide client support for go-live events by triaging and managing data conversion-related issues reported by clients

  • Responsible for protecting data entrusted to HHIT by customers or other parties by strictly adhering to HHIT’s data security and privacy policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA, PIPEDA and all other applicable law.
