The Data Collector position at Larimer County offers a unique opportunity to engage in fieldwork while contributing to the property valuation process. This full-time role involves outdoor activities such as measuring homes, gathering site-specific information, and interacting with property owners. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy a blend of technology and community engagement, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

  • Gathers data through visual inspection, sketching building exteriors and/or site boundaries, measuring, and photographing the property.
  • Performs data entry of additions, completions, and/or site use and zoning changes.
  • Locates and identifies blueprints, maps, plats, surveys, and other resources for appraisal staff.
  • Completes field inspections of single-family residential real property and ancillary structures in response to appeals or as requested.
  • Complies with County vehicle usage policy, utilizing GPS monitored vehicles for safety and data collection.
  • Creates, records, and maintains information about property attributes along with creating building footprints.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License required by date of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with property owners, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently after the initial training period.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Additional coursework related to single family residential real property preferred.
