Power Your Future with Qualus in our Distribution department as a Data Collection Technician. The Data Collection Technician role is a dynamic and independent position that involves data entry, daily travel, and distribution equipment inspections. As a tech-savvy professional proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, the candidate will use a smartphone and/or tablet device to conduct visual analyses, capture photographs, and enter data into the mobile device, supporting critical distribution field data collection projects. This role is ideally suited for candidates with previous experience in meter reading or utility work. Situational awareness, map reading, and safety are essential skills, and a background in distribution would be a valuable asset. As a Data Collection Technician (Damage Assessor) you are responsible for leading a two-person team with an Operations Driver (Wire Down Guard) assigned to patrol distribution lines and equipment damaged by hurricane, ice, wind or other causes. You must ensure crews have proper materials for restoration work and know appropriate electrical distribution safety rules. As a Data Collection Technician (Damage Assessor), your responsibility will be to identify primary and secondary electrical facilities, including poles, primary wires, secondary wires, services, primary insulators, transformers, fuses, reclosers, regulators, OCBs, substations, etc. You must be able to identify all necessary repairs required for restoration and complete client specific damage reports in detail. Comprehensive training in safety protocols for both the host utility and Qualus will be provided. Please be prepared for extended on-site hours when called to work. This role always requires travel, and your work schedule may vary, potentially including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
