About The Position

You will be part of the IT Operations team supporting a national security mission to maintain the safety, security, and effectiveness of the United States nuclear weapons stockpile. The Data Center Technician will report directly to the Data Center Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• OR PhD
• OR Twelve or more years of relevant education, training and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience for this posting.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 4 years of IT Experience
• Minimum 2 years experience evaluating and mapping facility wiring
• Work experience with DOE and/or NNSA Orders and practices is preferred
• Experience with Business Continuity Planning
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or Lucid Chart
• 2 years' experience with server, storage, network, or database management

Responsibilities

• Monitors batch processing jobs to ensure completion occurs in a timely fashion
• Executes data transfer jobs as required
• Assists with payroll tasks including printing of payroll checks, stubs, and tax forms
• Monitor access to the production data center
• Performs periodic walkdowns of systems located in the data center
• Utilizes tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, or Lucid Chart to draw floor plans and wiring diagrams
• Maps wiring such as electrical and data and translates to drawings
• Assists other teams such as network engineering with facility walkdowns and network circuit mapping
• Utilizes ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow) for tracking incidents, changes, and other requests
