About The Position

We are seeking an experienced a Data Center Technician with 1-5+ years of leadership or management experience in a data center environment. This role oversees a team consisting of: Five Level 2 Technicians Five Level 3 Technicians Other roles coming The team is responsible for supporting and troubleshooting large‑scale GPU deployments within an enterprise data center, ensuring high availability, operational excellence, and adherence to strict technical and procedural standards. The Lead Technician will guide and participate in day‑to-day data center operations, including: Decommissioning Activities Remove network cables and associated hardware as part of structured decommission workflows. Perform DBD (Device-Based Decommission) removal tasks (no scanning required). Cabling & Infrastructure Work Run, label, route, and stage power and network cabling according to engineering specifications. Maintain high standards of cable management, documentation, and labeling accuracy. Hardware Preparation & Deployment Prepare, stage, and install servers, GPU systems, and network equipment. Perform basic hardware startups, shutdowns, and configuration steps using written procedures, checklists, and deployment guides. Follow established processes for diagnostics, troubleshooting, component replacement, and equipment decommissioning. Operational Support Conduct physical audits of data center assets to ensure accuracy of inventory and documentation. Support GPU cluster troubleshooting, connectivity validation, and escalation workflows. Work closely with Data Center Technician Leads and engineering teams to execute tasks safely and efficiently. The Data Center Technician team supports operational continuity by: Monitoring systems for hardware failures, performance issues, or operational anomalies. Responding to error messages, identifying root causes, and taking corrective action. Assisting programmers and systems analysts with testing and debugging new software or hardware deployments. Using spreadsheet and data‑processing tools to load, manipulate, and report on operational data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of:
  • Computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow detailed procedures.
  • Data center operations
  • Cabling (copper & fiber)
  • Hardware installation & troubleshooting
  • Rack/stack experience
  • Documentation & labeling

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in computer programming, IT, or related technical training.
  • Prior experience in Microsoft data centers is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with GDCU, Microsoft’s ticketing and workflow system.
  • Experienced with Dell or HP enterprise hardware, especially in large‑scale deployments.
  • Experience supporting GPU‑dense compute environments.
  • GPU infrastructure familiarity (preferred)
