About The Position

Edged is a fast-growing provider of sustainable data centers and energy infrastructure. The company builds and operates a global network of ultra-efficient, AI-ready data centers with waterless cooling for colocation, hyperscale and build-to-suit customers. The highly differentiated infrastructure platform is the first large-scale, global deployment of waterless cooling platform-wide and transforms data center growth into a catalyst for sustainable development. Edged is backed by a deep proprietary technology stack that will include renewable microgrid systems, ultra-clean generators, and waste-to-fuel solutions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, telecommunications, or data center operations.
  • Working knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware systems and components.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards (fiber and copper) and data center infrastructure.
  • Strong time management, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or raised-floor environments.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in data center or colocation environments.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and OSI Layers 2–3.
  • Experience using CMMS, ticketing, and documentation tools (e.g., Carma, JIRA, eMaint)
  • Basic knowledge of BMS/DCIM systems for environmental and power monitoring.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, A+, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.
  • Experience with testing and terminating fiber and copper cabling systems.
  • Exposure to cooling, electrical, and building systems in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety, security, and compliance requirements (including JHAs, LOTO, and site access procedures).
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment; report and correct any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Participate in required training, toolbox talks, and operational readiness reviews.
  • Adhere to Edged’s change management and documentation processes.
  • Rack and stack servers, switches, routers, storage systems, and other IT or telecom equipment.
  • Install, label, and manage copper and fiber cabling infrastructure; terminate, test, and document all connectivity.
  • Perform equipment migrations, power connections, and cross-connect installations.
  • Support server power-up, BIOS access, and handoff to remote provisioning teams.
  • Execute hardware installations and decommissioning activities in alignment with MOPs/SOPs.
  • Provide physical support for remote engineering teams, including cable tracing, component swaps, and console access.
  • Perform diagnostics and basic troubleshooting such as power cycling, reseating components, and verifying signal paths.
  • Support incident response efforts by identifying, stabilizing, and documenting issues promptly.
  • Manage and resolve service tickets through internal tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow, or Confluence).
  • Conduct routine site inspections and report environmental or equipment anomalies.
  • Perform cabinet, rack, and cage audits to maintain accuracy of asset records.
  • Assist in monitoring power utilization, performing power resets, and tracking equipment changes.
  • Ensure all work areas and cabling layouts remain clean, safe, and compliant with Edged standards.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for customer representatives, vendors, and third-party contractors.
  • Escort and monitor vendor activities to ensure adherence to safety, security, and procedural compliance.
  • Provide visual verification, photo documentation, and timely updates for customer tasks.
  • Maintain clear communication and coordination with remote operations and OCC teams.
  • Receive, track, label, and ship IT assets and materials in accordance with company inventory processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts, consumables, and equipment moves in asset tracking systems.
  • Perform physical audits and reconcile inventory data to support logistics and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate closely with data center, network, and operations teams to support ongoing projects and maintenance.
  • Participate in cross-training and skill development programs to expand technical proficiency.
  • Support process improvements and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
