Data Center Technician
About The Position
L2/L3 Technician- 3+ years of DC experience Shifts: A side nights: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & Every other Wednesday 6pm - 6am B side Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Every other Wednesday 6a - 6p B side Nights: Same as Above except 6p - 6a. Summary: Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission Run/Label/Stage Power & Networking Cables DBD removal only (does not perform any scanning) Follows procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning equipment with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions, checklists, guides, standard procedures, and with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads Physical audits of datacenter assets Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Required: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- 5+ years of DC experience required
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance
- Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program
- Help programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs
- Operate spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports
