About The Position

Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for a Data Center Technician. This is a full-time contract position with a duration of 3+ months, located in Vernon Hills, IL. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining IT infrastructure such as switches, servers, and related products. You will also install, support, and maintain UPS and Rack Power Systems, coordinate with vendors as required to maintain systems, and ensure proper patch levels on supported hardware and software. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining technical architecture documentation for server infrastructure and support standards, security policies, practices, and guidelines for infrastructure. The role requires maintaining server rooms, ensuring the accuracy of objects in monitoring and asset management tools, and working off hours and weekends as dictated by business needs. The position may require lifting up to 60 pounds with or without assistance on occasion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years IT Data Center experience.
  • Capable of independently running and terminating copper and fiber within Data Centers.
  • Experience with Asset and Infrastructure Change Management processes.
  • Ability to conduct asset tagging, labeling and tracking.
  • Experience Surveying data centers and inventorying equipment.
  • Experience participating in Audit and Compliance activities and reporting for Data Centers.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment as required using best practices.
  • Maintain server rooms.
  • Maintain accuracy of the objects in monitoring and asset management tools.
  • Work off hours and weekends as dictated by business need.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds with or without assistance on occasion.
