As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing creative approaches to minimize operational costs, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies across various systems including mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems. You will ensure that our data center operates at maximum efficiency and manage systems to avoid unplanned customer-impacting events.

  • Develop creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum and improve efficiency.
  • Manage mechanical responsibilities including chilled water systems, HVAC systems, and humidification systems.
  • Handle electrical responsibilities including power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through UPS systems.
  • Oversee fire life safety responsibilities including wet sprinkler systems and their associated detection devices.
  • Test performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic voltmeters.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes.
  • Inspect parts for surface defects and install electrical or electronic parts and hardware.
  • Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand or power tools.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.
  • Analyze systems to ensure best practices for both internal and external customers.
  • Provide feedback to DCO Engineering on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes.
  • Work with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades.
  • Track and complete a preventive and predictive maintenance program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities (preferably a data center, hospital, semi-conductor, or power plant).
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems used in a data center environment.
  • Current knowledge in industrial safety best practices (i.e., lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA and state regulations).
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Ability to operate Hand and Machine Tools and electrical tools such as a multi-meter or infrared camera.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds.
  • CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E Certified during employment.
  • Possession of an OSHA approved forklift certification or the ability to obtain one after hire.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location.
  • Hourly base salary for this position is $27.80 - $41.60 and is eligible for overtime pay.
