Data Center Technician I
About The Position
The Data Center Technician supports mission-critical network and facilities infrastructure. In this role, you will provide customer support to Data Center and Network customers within the 24 x 7 x 365 Network Operations Center (NOC) that serves as our front line for network, data center, and security issues. This position is responsible for responding to Data Center support requests, resolving customer issues, and triaging alarms. Data Center Technicians also support delivering new network services, data center customer installs, and troubleshooting. You'll be expected to interface frequently with customers and vendors.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in data center infrastructure/environment or similar experience Required
Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve operational issues, alarms, and maintenance of Data Center Infrastructure using BMS/NMS and physical inspections
- Perform report/smart hands requests for customers & on-site access and assistance to customers
- Support partner teams internally (g.Field Ops, Fiber Eng. Data Prov, Sales/Sales Eng., Physical Security and Network NOC)
- Perform layer 1 installation work for new sales orders, disconnect/decommissioning orders & cable mining
- Inspect and accept daily inbound/outbound customer and internal shipments
