About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Engineer III to support vendor, contractor, and internal team activities involved in the retro‑commissioning of operational data centers. This role provides oversight and technical leadership across a wide range of critical infrastructure systems, including: Medium & Low Voltage Power Systems Generators UPS Systems HVAC Systems (Air Handlers, Exhaust Fans, VFDs) Chilled Water Systems Building Management Systems (BMS) Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) Testing & Balancing Pumps & Hydronic Systems

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in engineering, installation, startup, or commissioning of electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 5+ years of relevant hands‑on discipline experience.
  • Strong technical competency in at least one of the following: mechanical, electrical, or controls systems—along with the ability to learn and support the others.
  • Ability to interpret design documents (drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, sequences of operation) and provide feedback aligned with organizational design standards.
  • Experience reviewing and developing commissioning documentation, including test plans and reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SharePoint or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills; able to remain effective in high‑pressure environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems for critical infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to read and revise construction documents, design drawings, control diagrams, and specifications.
  • Experience creating and executing test procedures based on design intent and equipment submittals.
  • Experience in telecommunications construction and enterprise‑scale data center environments.
  • Expert‑level experience in mission‑critical facility operations and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee testing and validation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in active operational data centers.
  • Reviewing as‑built documentation, equipment submittals, and commissioning plans.
  • Managing third‑party commissioning vendors and monitoring onsite functional and integrated systems testing.
  • Troubleshooting issues using strong technical depth and a proactive approach to maintain schedule and minimize operational impact.
  • Providing multi‑discipline input on project scheduling, test scripts, design reviews, and commissioning planning.
  • Auditing vendor activities for compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Preparing regular progress reports and metrics for the Regional Commissioning Manager.
  • Leading multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring milestones are met while maintaining budget compliance.
  • Sharing lessons learned and contributing to ongoing program improvements.
