  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure, modular deployments, or rack integration design.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), Visio, and 3D modeling.
  • Familiarity with power and cooling standards (e.g., ASHRAE TC 9.9, Uptime Institute, TIA-942).
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware (servers, switches, storage) and data center cabling best practices.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to data center or partner sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a highly technical discipline.
  • Experience with hyperscale or edge data center design and rapid deployment methods.
  • Knowledge of CFD (computational fluid dynamics) for airflow and thermal modeling.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices and energy-efficient designs (e.g., PUE optimization).
  • Certifications: CDCP, DCDC, RCDD, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Architect deployment end-to-end modular data center solutions, including containerized, skid-based, or pre-fabricated modules.
  • Develop scalable and efficient rack designs optimized for compute, storage, and networking equipment.
  • Integrate power distribution, thermal management, cabling, and space utilization into high-performance rack solutions.
  • Read engineering documents including 3D CAD models, rack elevations, BOMs, airflow diagrams, and wiring schematics.
  • Create high level Visio style drawings (prepping for customer readiness).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, network, and facility engineers.
  • Perform physical customer siting and deployment evaluations and build customer deployment plan.
  • Process manage to ensure customer is ready for deployment (customer readiness).
  • Support deployment teams during site delivery, integration, commissioning, and validation testing.
  • Assess and select vendors for rack hardware, cooling systems, PDUs, cabling, and modular enclosures.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies in modular infrastructure, edge computing, liquid cooling, and DC power distribution.
  • Define design and deployment standards for modular systems and rack-level integrations.
  • Drive automation and repeatability across deployments by leveraging DCIM tools, CAD templates, and configuration management platforms.
  • Work with sales, business development, and client teams to tailor solutions based on customer needs and site-specific constraints.
  • Present technical concepts and architectural strategies to stakeholders and decision-makers.
