A technician I, II or III can be assigned to a single project or multiple projects, depending on size and complexity. The installation technician will complete the assignments issued by the supervisor and must be willing to learn, progress and grow a career. Voice/Data cable installation tech I, II and III responsibilities Follow safe work practices adhering to AFL and client work site policies. Safety is AFL’s number one Core Value Promotes company Core Values Installation of low-voltage cabling systems including all aspects of the installation process: Ability to learn basic wiring diagrams and installation instructions Ability to learn how to terminate common types of fiber optic fittings (SC, ST, LC, etc.) efficiently and to industry, manufacturer, and AFL standards Ability to learn how to efficiently terminate copper cabling to industry, manufacturer, and AFL standards Ability to learn how to test different categories of copper media (Category 5e, Category 6 etc.). Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor Maintain satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements Maintain a neat and orderly worksite Understands, adheres to, and promotes the Environmental, Health & Safety policies of AFL Telecom Attend classes and training sessions, as requested by AFL management, to obtain and maintain vendor certifications Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) Personal Qualities Communication Skills – Read, write, and understand the English language, Spanish is a plus. Willingness to learn and develop a mastery of installation practices and methods.
