About The Position

As a Data Center Services Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the critical systems that power Allstate’s technology infrastructure. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers to learn how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, servers, and network-connected devices that keep our business running efficiently and securely. This internship is ideal for students interested in IT infrastructure, data center operations, and networking — especially those who enjoy solving complex problems and learning through real-world experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Graduation Date: Dec 2026 - Dec 2028.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, or system administration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • Interest in learning about data center environments and enterprise infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) or automation tools (e.g., Ansible) is a plus.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA (in progress or completed) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers and network-connected devices.
  • Monitor system performance, review alerts, and document findings or resolutions.
  • Support troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in data center improvement projects and routine maintenance activities.
  • Learn to follow safety procedures and change control processes used in enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with Network Operations and Engineering teams to maintain system reliability.
