About The Position

The Data Center Security Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of data center facilities. This position involves conducting patrols, monitoring access, and maintaining a secure environment while providing excellent customer service to clients and their customers. The officer will be responsible for observing and reporting suspicious activities, enforcing security policies, and assisting in the training of new staff. The role requires a proactive approach to security and a commitment to meeting client expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent training as per local jurisdictions.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Experience in customer service-related fields.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and respect.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.
• Basic CPR/AED/First Aid or BHV equivalent certification.

• Experience in construction site security.

Responsibilities

• Conduct unarmed patrols of the facility, both interior and exterior.
• Control facility access and egress, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
• Monitor closed circuit televisions and alarm systems for security breaches.
• Compose detailed reports on security incidents and activities.
• Deter criminal activity and misconduct through visible presence and engagement.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to promote physical security and safety.
• Observe and report suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
• Assist in badge/ID generation and asset management.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and escalate issues as necessary.
• Distribute and enforce on-site and global standard operating procedures.
• Provide concierge services and assist with package delivery.
• Train new staff on security systems, SOPs, and customer service etiquette.
• Support the Site Manager in creating and improving site-specific SOP/Post Orders.
• Ensure 100% completion of log and report write-ups and timesheet documentation.
• Meet KPIs outlined by the Security Supervisor.
